Avocado & Ginger Wellness Drink
This creamy avocado and ginger drink is a refreshing, nutrient-rich beverage that combines the healthy fats of avocado with the spicy warmth of fresh ginger. It makes a satisfying breakfast drink or afternoon pick-me-up and can be enjoyed chilled at any time of day.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
- 2 cups cold water or coconut water
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- A few ice cubes
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a blender.
- Peel and grate the fresh ginger. Add it to the blender with the avocado.
- Pour in the water or coconut water. Coconut water adds a subtle sweetness and extra electrolytes, while plain water keeps the drink lighter.
- Add the fresh lime juice. This brightens the flavor and helps balance the richness of the avocado.
- If you prefer a sweeter drink, add honey or maple syrup. You can adjust the amount to suit your taste.
- Add a few ice cubes and a pinch of cinnamon if desired.
- Blend on high speed for 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust. Add more water for a thinner consistency, more lime juice for extra freshness, or a little more sweetener if needed.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Serving Suggestions
This drink is best enjoyed fresh. Pair it with whole-grain toast, fruit, or a light breakfast for a balanced meal. You can also add spinach, cucumber, or a handful of mint leaves for extra flavor and nutrients.
Storage
Because avocado oxidizes quickly, this beverage is best consumed right after preparation. If necessary, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours. Stir well before drinking.
Nutrition Note
Avocados provide fiber and heart-healthy unsaturated fats, while ginger contributes a bold flavor and contains natural plant compounds that have been studied for their potential health benefits. However, drinks made from avocado and ginger are not proven to eliminate cholesterol, joint inflammation, or fatigue, and no beverage can guarantee those results in a few days. Enjoy this recipe as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
