Easy Homemade Artisan Bread Recipe
Fresh, soft, and golden crust bread made easily at home with simple ingredients.
🧾 Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons (60 ml) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon (10 g) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/3 cups (320 ml) warm water
- 4 3/4 cups (570 g) all-purpose flour

Step 1: Activate yeast
In a large bowl, mix warm water with dry yeast. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Make dough
Add olive oil and salt. Gradually add flour while mixing until dough forms.
Step 3: Knead dough
Knead for 8–12 minutes until smooth, soft, and elastic. Add minimal flour if sticky.
Step 4: First rise
Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
Step 5: Shape bread
Punch down dough and shape into a round or oval loaf.
Step 6: Second rise
Place on tray or Dutch oven, cover, and rest for 30–40 minutes.
Step 7: Bake
Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 25–35 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
