Glazed Blueberry Biscuits
Soft, buttery biscuits filled with juicy blueberries and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.
Ingredients
For the Biscuits
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
For the Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and cut it into the flour mixture until crumbly.
2. Add Wet Ingredients
Pour in milk and vanilla extract. Mix gently until a soft dough forms. Carefully fold in the blueberries without overmixing.
3. Shape the Biscuits
Transfer dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pat dough to about 1-inch thickness. Cut biscuits using a round cutter or glass.
4. Bake
Place biscuits on the prepared baking tray. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
5. Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
6. Finish
Drizzle glaze over the warm biscuits and serve immediately.
Tips
- Use cold butter for flaky biscuits.
- Frozen blueberries can also be used.
- Do not overmix the dough.
